For 31 years, Linda Tripp, has worked with World Vision Canada (WVC) as a member of the executive team leading International Programs, becoming the first woman Vice President in the World Vision global partnership, representing WVC to government, other aid organizations, and serving on several coalitions and boards. She chaired the Women's Commission that developed the first Gender Policy for the WV global partnership and championed the cause of women and the Girl Child. She also established WVC’s Development Education program to increase donor and public understanding of poverty issues. Through her extensive travels, Linda witnessed the work first hand, attended international and UN conferences and spoke to various publics across Canada. She implemented World Vision's private sponsorship program for refugees and set up the Refugee Reception Centre in Toronto. As justice and advocacy became more evident in WV’s work, Linda established and led the Advocacy Department that supports Child Rights, Economic Justice, and Peace Building.

Injustice is at the root of poverty. Poverty debilitates and robs one of dignity and hope. As Bev and Linda renewed their friendship, Linda became more aware of the injustice she and all abused children have suffered. Believing that God hates injustice, she felt called to stand with and support Bev and this team in their work. Linda sees this as a privilege to join the MK Safety Net Board and offer her services in any way she can as Mk Safety Net seeks justice, healing and protection.

Linda is 63 years old and married to Doug who has his own business in Energy and Environmental Management Training. They live in Rockwood, Ontario and attend St. George’s Anglican Church, Guelph. They have two children and two grandchildren who are a constant delight.
