Rich Darr was born in Akron, Ohio and grew up on the mission field in Mali, West Africa from 1957 - 1972 where his parents served as missionaries first with the United World Mission and then with the Gospel Missionary Union. Rich attended Mamou Alliance Academy in Guinea West Africa for six years where he suffered spiritual, physical, emotional and sexual abuse. He was a member of the Mamou Steering Committee that confronted the Christian and Missionary Alliance regarding abuses at Mamou Alli ance Academy and served on the first Board of Directors of MK SafetyNet. He currently resides in Park Ridge, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Rich serves as serves as Lead Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Park Ridge Illinois. His doctorate is from Boston University, where he focused on World Christianity, inter-faith dialogue, and environmental theology. |
